Petits Fours for the Four-Legged
Talk about your dog’s life. . . . How about those honey-flavored Snicker Poodles and sodium-free Terrier Tortes?
That’s some of the fare to be offered by Three Dog Bakery, the Kansas City, Mo.-based gourmet dog food franchise, when it opens its newest shop Saturday in Old Town Pasadena. The company, which already has a store in Oxnard, bakes its specialty treats on site, including Pet-It Fours, Puptarts, Scottie Biscotti and Lab Loaves--each baked without salt or sugar.
Thanks to in-house pastry chef Claire Torrey, pet owners can order customized birthday cakes and wedding cakes (for bow-vows) baked fresh and decorated by hand. The bakery also will carry the only FDA-approved dog kibble on the market--Bakery Blend, in both vegetarian and chicken flavors.
Owners Tracy Powell, Mark Bodnar and Leanna Polk-Bodnar (who signs letters “Pawsitively Yours”) will unleash their new enterprise this weekend with Pasadena Humane Society dog adoptions, cookbook signings and professional dog photo sittings.
Bone appetit!
