UC Santa Barbara 73, Cal State Fullerton 54--The Gauchos (7-10, 5-2) manhandled the Titans (9-8, 3-4) on the fastbreak and kept Ike Harmon out of double figures in scoring for the first time this season en route to a Big West victory at Goleta.

It was the seventh victory in the last nine games for Santa Barbara, which started the season 0-8.

The Gauchos’ victory, along with Long Beach State’s loss against Boise State, put Santa Barbara in first place in the Western Division. Fullerton was left with its seventh loss in eight road games.

The Gauchos’ B.J. Bunton claimed the upper hand in the matchup with Harmon. Bunton scored 18 points and helped hold Harmon to six points, well below his 15.6 average. It ended Harmon’s string of 19 consecutive double-figure games.

Harmon made only two of 10 shots, but Harmon wasn’t the only Titan player who struggled. The Titans shot only 29.6% for the game and made only six of 33 shots (18%) in the second half.
