The City Council this week unanimously approved the 1999-2000 fiscal year budget, which takes effect today. The city expects to raise $9,031,200 in revenue and spend $9,782,550. This marks the first year of a seven-year Street Tree program, which will cost $170,000 a year, or $1,190,000 over the seven years.
