Extra Study for Roman Catholics
St. Irenaeus Parish and the Diocese of Orange Catechetical Institute are offering an opportunity to learn more about the Roman Catholic faith in a workshop series beginning next month.
It is common for many Roman Catholics to stop studying their faith once they reach high school, organizers say. The Catholic Overview series is a chance for adult Catholics to delve into the Catholic faith and the implications of Vatican II.
The course includes 10 sessions discussing topics such as the Church, scripture and tradition, the sacraments, teaching about Mary and the Holy Spirit.
Classes will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday and Thursday in Classroom 5 at the church, 5201 Evergreen Ave., Cypress. The series begins Aug. 2.
