Hubalek Helps Bullfrogs Beat Minnesota, 6-4

Roman Hubalek had two goals and an assist and B.J. MacPherson had four assists to help the Bullfrogs defeat the Minnesota Blue Ox, 6-4, in a Roller Hockey International game Sunday in Minneapolis.

Rob Laurie had 21 saves to earn his league-leading seventh victory for the Bullfrogs (7-1-2), who are three points behind Western Conference leading Las Vegas. Anaheim plays its next game at Las Vegas Thursday.

“We played a solid road game tonight,” Bullfrogs Coach Brad McCaughey said. “In the second half, we really shut them down.”

Anaheim outshot Minnesota, 23-10, in the second half, and broke a 3-3 tie on Kevin Kerr’s first goal of the season with 15 seconds remaining in the third quarter.

Minnesota (3-9), which is in last place in the Eastern Conference, closed to within 5-4 in the fourth quarter. But Hubalek scored his 12th goal with 1 minute 14 seconds remaining to seal the victory.

Bullfrog forward Hugo Belanger scored his 19th goal and added an assist to give him a league-leading 39 points.
