BUENA PARK

At a study session Tuesday, the City Council directed staff to pay special attention to any residents within 500 feet of the proposed water park at Knott’s Berry Farm when the project’s environmental impact report comes up for public review. The study should be completed in three to four months; the city has to wait for those results before it can consider approval of the water park. Knott’s announced in June that it plans to spend $25.5 million to build the 13-acre Soak City U.S.A., expected to open for a 130-day season in summer 2000. The park’s location is just south of Independence Hall at Beach Boulevard and Crescent Avenue.
