Skateboarder Hit by Car Is Critical
A 20-year-old Camarillo man was in critical condition at a county hospital Saturday night after being struck by a car while he was riding his skateboard through a busy intersection, Oxnard police said.
Brandon Snow suffered serious head injuries in the collision, said police and officials at Ventura County Medical Center, where he was on life support in the intensive care unit.
Snow failed to stop at a red light while skateboarding on Wooley Road and trying to cross C Street about 6 p.m. Friday, Oxnard police officers said.
He was struck by a car driven by Braulio Mendoza Perez, 42, of Oxnard, police said. Perez was not injured.
No citations were issued at the scene but the investigation is continuing, police said.
