Boy Survives Near-Drowning in Family Pool
A La Habra toddler nearly drowned in his family’s swimming pool Wednesday evening, police said.
The 18-month-old boy was treated at Whittier Hospital Medical Center and released. The child was submerged for minutes in a backyard pool on the 1300 block of North Marcia Drive, said La Habra Police Lt. Jerry Cline. Police and paramedics were called at 5:36 p.m.
“The mother was also in the backyard and was apparently distracted for a period of time and the child fell in,” Cline said. “His mother pulled him out, and he was breathing.”
Police did not release the boy’s name.
