Public Invited to Bring Gifts for Animal Babies

Share

Like many newborns, these babies need bottle warmers, towels, bed sheets and Pedialyte infant supplements.

But unlike their tiny human counterparts, wild baby critters also have much more specialized needs--from rodent food to trout chow and dove seed.

The public is invited to bring these and other gifts to assist the California Wildlife Center at a Wildlife Baby Shower today at Malibu Creek State Park.

The 24-hour rescue service center, based in Malibu Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains, assists sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife.

The baby shower is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in conjunction with Malibu Creek State Park’s 25th birthday celebration.

A partial list of needed shower items include: heat lamp bulbs, incubators, powdered goat’s milk, Ensure or Ensure Plus, Purina HiPro Kitten Chow, organic apple juice, organic baby food, laundry soap (with no perfume or dyes), Clorox II, toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue and Natural Life canned dog and cat food.
