In Brief

*** Destiny's Child, "The Writing's on the Wall," Columbia. This is the record En Vogue should be making. The songwriting is top-notch, the production values are inventive, and the teen quartet's vocals are equal parts angelic and naughty. In particular, "Bug A Boo," a sharp slap at a pesky suitor, and the slyly humorous hit single "Bills Bills Bills" and "Temptations" on this album (in stores Tuesday) make Destiny's Child the best girl group to arrive in years.

Albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two (fair), three (good) and four (excellent).
