The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Tuesday on an apartment complex that the City Council declared a public nuisance last month. Residents will have a chance to tell city officials about conditions at 219 S. Melrose Ave. After 12 years of complaints, the city has begun the formal process of forcing the property owner, Mangal Verma, to repair unhinged doors, leaking sinks, broken windows and missing lights. Verma will follow any decision made by the city, said Stacy Safion, the landlord’s attorney.

The next public hearing is scheduled during the City Council meeting Aug. 17.
