Title IX

I sincerely wish that Steve Reich (letter, July 20) and men who think like him could please blow the cobwebs out of their Neanderthal heads. Please hear this loud and clear. It’s not that women want to compete with men, it’s that they want to compete period! Had Title IX not passed, there would be no WNBA, Women’s World Soccer Cup, etc. Why can’t people just appreciate athletes period?

Why do some men feel the need to always point out that OK, well maybe some women can play pretty good but still not at the level a man can? Whether I am watching a man or woman perform at an incredible level, far beyond what I could do, I appreciate the incredible physical display before my eyes.
