CYPRESS
The City Council on Monday unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance that would limit the hours of construction and maintenance activities in the city. Residents had complained about noise occurring as early as 7 a.m. on Saturdays. Activity would be prohibited before 9 a.m. Saturdays. The ordinance will come back to the council for approval and adoption at its Aug. 9 meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in council chambers, 5275 Orange Ave. Information: (714) 229-6680.
