The city’s Traffic Commission will decide tonight whether a crossing guard is needed to help schoolchildren get through the intersection of the Street of the Golden Lantern and Chapparosa Park Road. More than 24,200 cars travel on Golden Lantern at the intersection each day, making the situation precarious for children at George White Elementary School, according to a study by city traffic engineers. The commission meets at 7 tonight at City Hall, 27841 La Paz Road, Laguna Niguel. (949) 362-4300.
