DANA POINT
Orange County Supervisor Tom Wilson recently announced that there is $250,000 in matching grants available for local beach preservation pilot programs. Wilson made the announcement at a recent Costal Coalition meeting in Dana Point. The project funds were secured in this year’s state budget, according to Wilson, who also chairs the coalition. A $150,000 grant is available for a low-flow, runoff diversion project and a $100,000 storm drain structural improvement project. The projects are designed to improve water quality at the county’s most at-risk beaches. Information: (714) 834-3550.
