Three of the five members of the Rancho Santa Margarita Cityhood Committee announced their bid to be on the first City Council. It followed a unanimous decision Tuesday by the Orange County Board of Supervisors to put cityhood on the November ballot.
Carol Gamble, Gary Thompson and Neil Blais made their decision last week after they said they were inundated with calls and letters from residents asking them to run. They are joined by Jim Thor and Debra Lewis, who both serve on Rancho’s Civic Council.
