Police will close Campus Drive at Paseo Montoya on Thursday to stage a mock traffic accident. The simulated crash is part of a two-day program for teenagers called Every 15 Minutes. Students take part to learn the outcome of drinking and driving. Emergency workers make the scene as realistic as possible, even choosing which students will be “killed” in the accident. The street closure is set for 12:30 p.m. in front of University High School. The program concludes with an assembly Friday. Information: Irvine Police Traffic Bureau, (949) 724-7212, Ext. 2055.
