Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. said that Chief Financial Officer Robert Lowes, who played a key role with the company since its 1997 spinoff from PepsiCo Inc., resigned to pursue other interests. Louisville, Ky.-based Tricon, owner of the Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell chains, said it has not yet named a successor and that Lowes will remain with the company for an unspecified time. The company gave no further details about the resignation, and a spokesman declined to elaborate. Tricon has taken steps over the last year to reduce debt incurred since it was spun off from PepsiCo. The announcement was made after the close of trading. Tricon shares fell 75 cents to close at $57 on the New York Stock Exchange.
