*** Sissy Bar, “Songs for Peeps,” Moo-Tron. This Silver Lake sextet’s second self-released collection of la-la-la lilting pop has an offbeat sense of humor and enough melodic flourishes to keep it interesting, despite the perpetual Pixies-esque undercurrent and new-wave sheen. An occasional serious turn (“Cop & Friend”) indicates depth, but such sublime absurdities as the paisley anthem “Smiley (We Become)” and the trippy comic epic “Daisy Putter” prove more memorable. The band plays a free show every Monday in June at Spaceland.
