New Charter

Share

Twelve power-hungry rogues who call themselves L.A. City Council members obviously think the voters in Los Angeles are a bunch of simpletons. They think we aren’t aware that after we elected a committee to review the L.A. City Charter they appointed their own committee to protect their selfish interests. And after their own committee agreed with ours, they came up with half a dozen unproven fabrications to try to convince us that the old 700-page charter is better than the one being presented for our vote.

They are so obvious in their blatant fear of losing some of their power that they are laughable. Why do they think we want a new charter? To prevent the likes of them from asking for bond or tax money and then spending it as they see fit, regardless of the public’s intent. They are fighting for personal control, without concern as to what’s best for the city.

Here’s what we should do: Approve the new city charter. Then recall the 12 of the 15 council members who are fighting it. They aren’t worthy of the offices they hold.
