The City Council unanimously approved an amendment to an existing city ordinance that will restrict homeowners from feeding wild birds. The amendment was in response to complaints over the last six months that a Beardsley Circle homeowner was attracting flocks of wild ducks to her backyard by feeding them. “You cannot feed that many birds in your yard without disturbing your neighbors,” said Councilwoman Patricia Bortle. “I think this will put the issue to rest.” The previous ordinance prohibited shooting wild birds or disturbing their nests or eggs.
