The state Department of Consumer Affairs’ Board of Podiatric Medicine has put on probation a podiatrist who heads Doctor’s Foot Care centers in Studio City, Irvine and Victorville. The board found that Gary Lee Weber of Granada Hills “had been incompetent and grossly negligent in his surgical and post-surgical treatment of several patients,” which resulted in improper bone healing in certain cases. Weber was not available for comment. In 1987, Weber was sued by the state for alleged unethical business practices and grossly substandard treatment. He agreed to pay $420,000 and to stop or modify certain disputed practices.
