Rancho Cucamonga Beats Lancaster, 6-2

A three-run fourth inning broke open a close game and Rancho Cucamonga defeated Lancaster, 6-2, before 2,606 at the Hangar on Tuesday night.

Brandon Parker (4-2) took the loss for the JetHawks (20-38), who outhit the Quakes, 10-8. Each team left nine runners on base. Ricky Magdaleno of Lancaster had four hits.

Roger Salkeld, former Saugus High pitcher, signed a free agent contract with the triple-A Calgary Cannons of the Pacific Coast League. Calgary is affiliated with the Florida Marlins.

Salkeld, a first-round draft pick in 1989, was pitching in the Mexican League. Salkeld, 28, was with triple-A New Orleans in the Cincinnati Reds’ organization last season.
