A 13th suspect in a drug bust that included the arrest of a local deputy district attorney surrendered to authorities Wednesday, a federal prosecutor said.

James Flanagan, 38, of La Puente is the latest arrestee in connection with a multimillion-dollar drug ring that prosecutors contend stretched from New Jersey to Hawaii.

Flanagan turned himself in at the Ronald Reagan Federal Building in Santa Ana and was taken into custody, Assistant U.S. Atty. James Spertus said.

He is charged with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamines. Others charged in the case include Deputy Dist. Atty. Bryan Kazarian, 35, who was arrested Sunday at his Aliso Viejo home.

Kazarian is accused of passing sensitive law enforcement information to John Ward, 28, the alleged leader of the group who was also arrested Sunday.

The defendants face a possible 10 years to life in prison.
