Hake Becomes Fluor Finance Executive

Ralph F. Hake was named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Fluor Corp. effective June 16. Hake, who was senior executive vice president and chief financial officer at Whirlpool Corp., succeeds James O. Rollans, who became president and chief executive of Fluor’s Signature Services unit in March. Irvine-based Fluor is the largest U.S. engineering and construction company.

Steven J. Katzman has joined the law firm of Albert, Weiland & Golden LLP in Costa Mesa. He was formerly an assistant U.S. attorney, heading the branch office in Youngstown, Ohio. Before that, he was an assistant U.S. attorney for the Central District of California in Los Angeles and Orange County. As a federal prosecutor, he was assigned to the major frauds unit from 1991 to 1996.

Timothy J. Barden has been named vice president of underwriting in the Costa Mesa office of USBenefits, a subsidiary of the Centris Group Inc. Barden joined USBenefits in 1987. Lorraine G. Schaefer has been appointed vice president of policyholder services.

Richard Saulsbury has been appointed first vice president and group manager for Comerica Bank-California’s Orange County branch in Costa Mesa. Saulsbury had been vice president. He joined Comerica in 1991 from First Interstate Bank.

Kate Kaemerle has been appointed to the newly created position of senior director for investor relations and communications for Internet Infinity Inc. in Costa Mesa. She will guide the public relations effort for the launch of the company’s new Web enterprise. She was formerly marketing director of North Star Marketing in Seattle.

Cheryl Doerr has been named a regional vice president for Carl’s Jr., and will oversee 114 restaurants primarily in Orange and San Diego counties. Doerr, who has been with the company since 1981, previously held the positions of general manager and district manager, overseeing restaurants in Newport Beach, Tustin and Santa Ana.

Robin E. Blevins has joined Orange National Bank as assistant vice president and SBA business development officer. She was previously a loan production officer with the Money Store in the Los Angeles area.

Michael D. Turner and Henry P. Schrenker have been appointed partners in the law firm of Kasdan, Simonds, McIntyre, Epstein & Martin, with offices in Irvine and San Jose. Schrenker, who joined the firm in 1995, was previously a partner with DiCaro, Highman, D’Anthony, Dillard, Fuller & Gregor, where he managed the firm’s Riverside County office. He was also an attorney with the law firms of Hartman, Morton & Schlegel and Hews, Munoz & Howard. Turner joined the firm in 1997 after being a litigation associate with the Newport Beach law firm of Newmeyer & Dillion and Rutan & Tucker in Costa Mesa.

John A. Landgard has been appointed president of Allwest Remediation Inc., an Anaheim environmental engineering and general contracting firm. He has more than 20 years of experience working with oil companies, manufacturers and property advisors.

Andrea L. Gyarmaty has joined MBK Homes Ltd. in Irvine as purchasing agent. She was formerly a construction coordinator and purchasing agent for Avalon Homes in Mission Viejo, and held similar positions at SeaCountry Homes in Tustin and Corniche Development in Santa Ana.

Steven H. Miller has been named chief financial officer for eMachines Inc. in Irvine. Miller had been vice president and controller at Ingram Micro Inc., and before that, audit manager for Coopers & Lybrand.

Georgia Ricci Nelson has been named president of Midwest Generation EME, LLC, a newly formed subsidiary of Irvine-based Edison Mission Energy. Nelson was most recently senior vice president of worldwide operations for Edison Mission. She has also been division president, Americas region and senior vice president of Southern California Edison. Succeeding her as senior vice president of worldwide operations is Ronald L. Litzinger. Litzinger, who joined the company in 1995, most recently served as vice president of operations and maintenance business development.
