Intertainer will announce a series of content agreements starting Tuesday at the National Cable Television Assn.’s annual meeting in Chicago.

The Culver City-based provider of interactive TV services has inked deals with the Disney Channel, 20th Century Fox, PBS and ESPN to develop content and e-commerce opportunities for a variety of channels on its interactive service. For example, the Disney Channel will provide content for Intertainer’s kids section that targets youngsters 2 to 11 years of age.

“The important point here is that we’re aggregating quality content from major studios, TV companies and interesting producers and artists,” said Bob Kaminsky, senior vice president of programming at Intertainer.

Intertainer plans commercial trials of its service this year in 10 to 15 U.S. cities. The service is designed to work using high-speed Internet connections provided by cable modems or digital subscriber line technology. The firm’s services will be available on next-generation set-top boxes from General Instrument that are scheduled to ship to cable operators nationwide this summer.
