Tonight is your chance to comment on the ways the city is proposing to spend its money over the next two years. City Council members will get an overview of the $84.7-million spending plan at a special budget workshop set for 6 p.m. in City Hall, 25909 Pala. Highlights of the proposed 1999-01 budget include a $2.7-million increase in all city funds, due primarily to bankruptcy settlement proceeds, and an 18% jump in the balance of the city’s rainy-day funds. Revenue is expected to grow by about 3% over the combined revenue of the past two years. The final budget is expected to be adopted Monday.
