GARDEN GROVE
The City Council recently approved sending two police officers to a training seminar in Colorado on the use of less-lethal weapons. The June 28-July 2 event, sponsored by the International Assn. of Chiefs of Police, will include classroom discussions and practical exercises on less-lethal technologies used throughout the nation. Garden Grove police currently carry shotguns loaded with bean bag rounds to be used in confrontations and spike strips to stop cars during high-speed pursuits. Information: (714) 741-5909.
