Renovation of Richard Samp Park, 600 Loyola Drive, is in the planning stage; the project has been approved by the City Council, but the work cannot begin until the city’s 1999-2000 budget is adopted, said Stephen Pischel, director of recreation and human services. The council is expected to vote on the budget June 29. The park will feature equipment upgrades and a new design, Pischel said. Construction is scheduled to begin in August and is expected to be completed by October.
