The Cultural & Beautification Committee has changed its name to the Community Activities & Beautification Committee to better reflect its duties. The City Council approved the name change after committee members said they get too many calls for problems, such as code enforcement, that are beyond their jurisdiction, because of confusion over the name. They had wanted to change it to the Community Activities Board in order to keep the same acronym, but Mayor Ken Blake didn’t like the term “board.”
