The City Council has voted to apply for $420,000 in Measure M funds, the voter-approved countywide sales tax that helps pay for street maintenance and repairs. The city must submit the application, which includes a seven-year capital improvement program and an eligibility checklist, by June 30 to the Orange County Transportation Authority. The council is seeking money to help fund street repavement, new curbs and landscaping the area around Yorba Linda Boulevard. The street construction projects for the 1999-2000 fiscal year will cost the city about $1.7 million.
