A 39-year-old man arrested Monday on suspicion of starting a fire with a lit cigarette in the Carbon Canyon area will be arraigned today, authorities said. Charles Dobis of Anaheim will be charged with reckless burning in connection with the fire near Vesuvius and Rose drives, police said. Dobis is being held at the Orange County Jail in Santa Ana on $10,000 bail. The fire, which started about 5 p.m., burned five acres but did not reach any structures, police said. No one was hurt. Police said witnesses saw Dobis fleeing the scene. Authorities said Dobis started the fire by throwing a lit cigarette into a pile of brush.
