Free Movie Tickets for Old Phone Books
West Valley residents who take their old phone books to the local Los Angeles Department of Water and Power office July 14 will receive free movie tickets.
Although the DWP customer service office in Canoga Park will accept outdated Pacific Bell phone books from Tuesday to July 30, AMC movie tickets will be distributed July 14 only, said DWP spokeswoman Darlene Battle.
Tickets will be limited to one per resident and only the first 100 people to drop off their books will receive tickets, she said.
DWP is sponsoring the project to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. Residents may still deposit phone books into their recycling bins at home.
The DWP customer service center is at 7229 Winnetka Ave. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Call (800) 342-5397.
