Menicci’s 7 Points Lead Bullfrogs Over Buffalo

Defenseman Tom Menicci had four goals and three assists to help the Bullfrogs to an 11-7 victory over the Buffalo Wings Saturday in a Roller Hockey International game at Buffalo State College.

Menicci’s seven points tied a franchise record set by Hugo Belanger Friday night against the St. Louis Bluesmen. Menicci, who is the top-scoring defenseman in the league with 23 points, scored three goals on power plays and the other was short-handed.

Belanger had one goal and five assists to increase his league-leading point total to 37.

After Buffalo took a 1-0 lead on Josh Oort’s goal two minutes into the game, the Bullfrogs responded with three consecutive goals in a three-minute span.

Buffalo got within one goal early in the third period, but the Bullfrogs again answered with three straight goals to take a 9-5 lead.
