Sheriff’s Department Looking for 3 Fugitives

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department has warrants out for three convicted felons who allegedly failed to appear for sentencing and is seeking the public’s help in finding them.

Joyce Anita Hunter, 39, was convicted in August for bouncing checks. Hunter, who is also known as Joyce Brown, is black, 5 feet 6, 200 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Authorities say she last lived in Oxnard and worked in Camarillo.

James Richard Ellis, who also uses the last name Pablonis, was arrested in May 1995 and eventually convicted of possession of narcotics. He is white, 5 feet 11, 200 pounds, with blue eyes and blond hair. Ellis, 36, last worked at Pep Boys in Oxnard and lived in the 1100 block of South Hall Place, authorities say.

Arturo Jorge Ramos, 22, was convicted last July of shooting at a vehicle and assault with a deadly weapon. He is Latino, 5 feet 9, 195 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. “Ramos” is tattooed on his left arm and “Arturo” on his right. He was last known to be working at Tenneco in Oxnard and living in the 3000 block of South L Street.
