Officials Study Skull Found by Hiker
CASTAIC —
Human bones found near a Castaic housing development Sunday could be 5 to 10 years old, authorities said.
A hiker discovered a skull about 7:55 a.m. near Cherry Drive, south of Parker Road, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Boris Nikolof.
Homicide investigators later found additional remains buried near the site.
The county coroner’s office, which sent an anthropologist to help with the investigation, will try to determine the sex and identity of the victim or victims, Nikolof said.
