An Illinois woman allegedly obsessed with basketball player Dennis Rodman faces extradition to Orange County on charges of stalking the Los Angeles Laker forward in pursuit of a romantic relationship with him.

An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for Marie Boguszewski, 36, whom prosecutors charged earlier this month with three counts of making terrorist threats and one count of electronic stalking.

Newport Beach officials said that since September the woman has made hundreds of attempts to contact Rodman by e-mail, fax and telephone. In each communication the woman requested dates with Rodman, and also offered to pay for sex with him, authorities said.

Rodman, they said, was told of the communications but his former publicity agents did not forward them. The terrorist-threat charges were filed after the woman threatened to kill the agents, who were with the Newport Beach firm Dwight Manley Inc.

Boguszewski is already jailed in Illinois on charges of assaulting her father and her aunt, so it is unclear when she will be extradited. Prosecutors said they will wait until settlement of that case before seeking extradition.

The electronic stalking count charges the woman with violating a law that went into effect Jan. 1. It prohibits repeated attempts to contact someone through electronic means.
