“Between Reality and Abstraction: California Art at the End of the Century,” a survey of California art spanning the final two decades of the 20th century, closes Sunday at the Irvine Fine Arts Center, 14321 Yale Ave. Kim Abeles, Peter Alexander, Billy Al Bengston, Ed Moses, Marc Pally, Edward Ruscha, Carole Caroompas and Joyce Lightbody are among the 34 artists represented in the show, curated by Donna Stein and funded by the Hillcrest Foundation of Los Angeles. “Touching the Intangible Ritual and Ceremonial Works From the Gene Isaacson Collection,” more than 60 examples of tribal and ritual art from around the world, closes today at the Cal State Fullerton Main Art Gallery, 800 N.
