NEWPORT BEACH
The price tag for the second phase of renovations at Eastbluff Elementary School probably will be about $2.7 million, Newport-Mesa Unified School District officials said. This would bring the total price tag for reopening Eastbluff to $5.2 million, about $1.8 million higher than the original estimate of $3.4 million. Funds to renovate the school, closed in 1992, are coming from Mello-Roos tax district money from the Bonita Canyon project. Additional money is from developer fees.
