The Ojai Valley Library Foundation is looking for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 who are interested in participating in a set-design workshop on April 15 and 16.

The workshop is in conjunction with the annual Ojai Shorts library fund-raising program, which features local actors reading literary selections.

Nita Whaley, president of the foundation, said four to six teenagers will be chosen to take part in the free workshop.

Under the direction of artist Neva Williams, the workshop will begin with a concept and culminate in a full-scale theatrical set, said Shorts co-chair Lisa Meeker. The Ojai Shorts presentation will be held April 17 at 8 p.m. at Matilija School.

This year’s local lineup of actors reading selections from short stories includes Peter Bellwood, Dwier Brown, Kim Maxwell-Brown, Leigh Curran, Larry Hagman, Robert Krimmer, Jim Lashly and John Perry. Tickets are $25.

In a related fund-raising effort, the foundation will sponsor a dinner at Suzannes restaurant before the performance. Tickets are $125 per person and include preferred seating for Ojai Shorts, said co-chair Bob Kemper.

Students wishing to apply for the workshop should call 649-4607 by March 31. For ticket information, call 649-5308.
