The next meeting of a community group working to save and restore the historic Villa Park Elementary School buildings is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Serrano Water District offices, 18021 Lincoln St. Community members are welcome.

The nonprofit committee on March 25 is expected to present a plan to Orange Unified School District trustees on how the buildings would be restored for future educational use, said the group’s president, Teri Brooks Elmendorf.

The group is raising money and working on a plan to restore the buildings. “We want to restore it for educational use so children have a historic building to learn in. . . . To give them a state-of-the-art classroom, but surround them with history, would be a wonderful gift to give these children,” she said. They are the only historically significant public facility in Villa Park. Information: (714) 997-9288.
