Yagher Sparks Golden West Past Orange Coast

Joe Yagher had three hits, including a triple in the third to drive in two runs and a double in the fifth, to help Golden West defeat Orange Coast, 6-5, in Orange Empire Conference baseball.

Ryan Brown (4-2) went the distance for the Rustlers (13-8, 3-4) and gave up eight hits.

Ryan Clark hit his ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth, for Orange Coast (11-11, 3-4).

Saddleback 8, Fullerton 5--Saddleback’s victory gave Coach Jack Hodges his 250th career victory in his 10th season with the Gauchos. Jimmy Luster’s home run in the bottom of the seventh gave the Gauchos the lead and provided the winning margin. Saddleback is 17-5, 4-3.

Santa Ana 6, Riverside 2--Pitcher Michael Natale struck out seven, walked two and gave up two runs on four hits for host Santa Ana (13-9, 3-4).

Saddleback 8, Riverside 1--John Cappello defeated Riverside’s Angel Barrera, 6-2, 6-1, and Khalid Naffa defeated John Guevara, 6-0, 6-0, before they teamed up for a 6-2, 6-2 victory in doubles for Saddleback (9-0, 8-0).
