L.A.-Bound: I fly out Friday. I love flying out to L.A. with a purpose--and I love flying out to L.A. because you’re losing time, which means that you’re getting younger. I also love coming because I stay at my daughter Melissa’s house.

Star-Struck: We go to the Ivy, which is French food without the attitude. It’s charming and countrified and I love everything about it. You always get to see a star there, and for me, every restaurant in L.A. should have a star eating.

Running, Hiking: Saturday morning, we go to E! and do a run-through. Then we go back to Melissa’s and we go to Pilates class, which I never have time for in New York. Then we go hiking, and then the rest of the day, we do beauty.

Can We Not Talk?: We have a masseuse, Susan Ahdoot, who comes over, and she doesn’t talk. New York masseuses talk. This woman has been doing me now for four years, I don’t even know if she’s married. It’s great. Then we have a nail lady, Daniela Gzvetanovich, who comes over from Hotel Shutters in Santa Monica and does our feet and hands, and she doesn’t talk. Such pampering.

Red Carpet Treatment: Sunday you’re up, you’re out, you get hair and makeup, and you’re dressed and you get on the red carpet and you’re part of this amazing experience. This is beyond wonderful because: a) I’m working and b) I’m seeing all my friends.

Free Room Service: After the pre-show, everyone from E! goes to a great hotel and we have our own Oscars-watching party in a huge suite. I sit with the writers for the E! fashion review, and we talk about what we liked and didn’t like. And we have room service. What could be better when you can order room service and you’re not paying for it?

Party’s Over: A big limo takes me home to Melissa’s house. My Manolo Blahnik shoes go off, my feet go up, I sit in the back of that limo and think, I am blessed. It’s just heaven. I’ve had a great weekend, I’ve seen and worked with my daughter, what could be better for a mother? The most glamorous event of the year, and I’ve been pampered to death. It’s the greatest weekend in the world.
