Deputies Offer to Fingerprint Children
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department is hosting its twice-monthly fingerprinting event Saturday in a shopping center at the corner of Arneill and Ponderosa roads in Camarillo.
A table will be set up in front of the Kmart store from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and McGruff will entertain children with anti-crime messages while officers take fingerprints at the free event.
Members of the Camarillo Citizen Patrol and the Crime Prevention Unit of the Sheriff’s Department will give parents child safety tips.
Senior Deputy Bob Fleming said the fingerprints, which parents take home, are important in identifying and locating children.
