Boeing’s mergers with Rockwell and McDonnell Douglas paid dividends at the Los Angeles Marathon earlier this month.

The aerospace giant fielded the top-finishing corporate team for the 26.2-mile race, with three entrants finishing first in their divisions and three others placing second in their divisions.

The runners whose scores gave Boeing its second first-place finish in three years were from the former Rockwell and McDonnell Douglas operations, said Kie SooHoo, an optical systems analyst in Anaheim and captain of the Boeing Track Club.

About 50 Boeing employees ran the marathon, including workers from Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Downey, Anaheim, Canoga Park, Palmdale and three from the company’s home state of Washington, SooHoo said.
