Man Fatally Stabbed After Fight Over Steak

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A woman fatally stabbed her boyfriend after he tried to strangle her because her children ate his steak, police said.
The 44-year-old man died of a chest wound Saturday. His name was not released.
Neighbors said the couple had been arguing inside the Breezeway South Motel, where the woman and her 4- and 6-year-old daughters were staying with a friend.
The man left and returned to find the girls eating a steak he had left. Police say he became enraged and began slapping the children.
The man then began choking the woman, but she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him, police said. Police were questioning the woman; she has not been charged.
