Tustin 3, Santa Ana 2--Steve Garcia’s run-scoring single scored Bobby Madden with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Danny Hippert stole home to tie score earlier in the inning for the Tillers (4-2, 1-1). Jose Corona’s two-run homer gave Santa Ana (0-2 in league) the lead in the top of the seventh.

In the Empire League:

No. 7 Cypress 4, Century 3--Joey Rafelson’s bases-loaded single with one out in the bottom of the seventh won the game for Cypress (7-2, 2-0). Zack Swanson had two hits and two RBIs for Cypress.

No. 3 El Dorado 13, Katella 2 (5, mercy rule)--Dan Franklin hit two home runs, driving in five runs, for El Dorado (6-1, 2-0). Jean-Paul Frid (3-0) was the winning pitcher.

In the Freeway League:

Sonora 5, Troy 4--Sunny Cheatham hit a grand slam in the first inning for Sonora (3-5, 2-0). Pitcher Brett Smith made three assists in a row in the sixth inning for the Raiders, and struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh to shut down host Troy (4-5, 0-2).

Sunny Hills 6, Buena Park 5--Jared Bruce hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to tie the score, 5-5, and George Seargent had a sacrifice fly in the sixth to put Sunny Hills ahead for good. Bruce had three hits and three RBIs and Seargent also had two doubles for the Lancers (5-4, 1-1).

In the Garden Grove League:

No. 5 La Quinta 5, Santiago 3--Monty Aldrup went two for three with two RBIs and two runs scored and Benny Soto was two for two with two RBIs and a run scored for La Quinta (9-0. 1-0). Steve Lee (3-0) struck out seven and pitched a complete game.

Bolsa Grande 5, Pacifica 2--Mike Johnston’s RBI single in the top of the seventh gave Bolsa Grande a 3-2 lead and Jose Jiminez followed with a two-run single.

Los Amigos 9, Garden Grove 3--Adam Shaeffer hit two home runs and struck out nine to lead host Los Amigos (9-0, 1-0).

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 4, Western 3--Andy Drapkowski’s run-scoring single in the top of the seventh drove in Chase Ulicny with the winning run for visiting Brea Olinda (6-3, 2-0). Mike Coletto hit a solo home run.

Magnolia 9, Savanna--Joey Gutierrez went three for three with two runs scored and Jeff Martin had two RBIs for host Magnolia (4-3, 2-0). Gutierrez has six hits in his last six at-bats.

In the Sea View League:

Irvine 8, El Toro 1--Felix Angel pitched a complete game, giving up six hits and striking out four for the Vaqueros (6-2, 2-0). James Whitted had two hits and an RBI for Irvine.

Santa Margarita 6, Corona del Mar 5--Jeff Larue’s solo home run highlighted Santa Margarita’s eight-hit attack. Matt Larson had three hits and three RBIs for Corona del Mar (5-2, 1-1).

Woodbridge 7, Newport Harbor 4--Brandon Runk had two hits and three RBIs for host Woodbridge. Steve Terwiske (1-0) went two for three, drove in one run and was the winning pitcher.

In the South Coast League:

No. 1 Mater Dei 16, Capistrano Valley 6 (5, mercy rule)--Steve Henderson hit a grand slam in the fourth inning to lead the visiting Monarchs (6-1, 2-0). Aaron Escobedo went three for four with three runs scored and three RBIs for Mater Dei.

Trabuco Hills 5, Mission Viejo 1--Brian Murphy’s three-run home run highlighted a four-run fourth for Trabuco Hills. Eric Bowden (3-0) struck out 12 for the Mustangs (6-1, 2-0).

In the Sunset League:

No. 2 Esperanza 7, Huntington Beach 4--Brian Ingstad and Joe Martin each had two hits for Esperanza (6-2, 1-1).

No. 8 Los Alamitos 8, Edison 1--Catcher Ryan Hanson went three for four and had two RBIs for host Los Alamitos (5-4, 2-0). Junior Ronnie Prettyman had three hits, including two doubles, for the Griffins. Greg Schwenn (1-1) had nine strikeouts for Los Alamitos. Edison dropped to 6-3, 1-1.
