After nearly four hours of public comments, the City Council voted Wednesday to move forward with a skate park planned for Steed Park. The council was considering moving the skate park to Forster Ranch Park, but several Forster Ranch residents protested, saying they feared it would become a magnet for noise and crime. Designs for the $150,000 skate park, to be funded entirely through private donations, are being considered this month by a coalition of local teens and city planners. The park is scheduled to open by year’s end.
