UCLA Women Had It All Except Enough Support
Congratulations to Kathy Olivier and the UCLA women’s basketball team on a great season and run in the NCAA tournament. I was in Pauley Pavilion as a UCLA student when UCLA won the AIAW title just over 20 years ago.
What was disappointing to see was the lack of support for the team from the community. Pauley was less than a quarter full for first- and second-round games. The Sports Arena wasn’t even half full for the regional semifinal and final games.
It’s about time that UCLA fans (men, like myself, and women) start supporting both their men’s and women’s sports teams.
