McGovern Joins Irvine Bank Firm
* Terrance S. McGovern has joined the Irvine investment banking and financial advisory firm of BCC Capital Partners LLC as a principal and managing director of investment banking. He was formerly with the New York office of Duff & Phelps LLC.
* Read Clarke has been appointed vice president of marketing for Nextlink California in Santa Ana. He succeeds Clarke Caines, who was named general manager of the telecommunications company’s new San Diego office. The new vice president was formerly director of sales for AirTouch Cellular.
* Jim Sanfilippo has been named vice president of marketing for Kia Motors America in Irvine. He was formerly vice president of distribution and logistics.
* Dan Yoshihara has been appointed chief financial officer and vice president of support services for PowerPlan Corp., a Huntington Beach provider of budget management software and financial analytic applications. Yoshihara was previously vice president of accounting and reporting at Public Storage.
* Norman R. Gritsch has been appointed chief executive of Ambassadors Housing, part of Ambassadors International Inc., a Newport Beach holding company. Gritsch had been with the law firm of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher for 10 years and was most recently a senior officer at a diversified holding company.
Timothy T. Fogarty was named vice president, finance and accounting. Fogarty joins the company from Avco Financial Services, where he was vice president and controller. In addition, the company said Ronald L. Merriman, president of Ambassadors Performance Group, has left to pursue other endeavors. John Ueberroth, chief executive of Ambassadors International, will assume his position.
* Tom Rogers, treasurer of the Irvine Co., has been elected chairman of Orange County’s United Way. The United Way vice chairman is Janet Davidson, partner for Paul Hastings, Janofsky & Walker.
* Sean Ahern and Kimberly Ahlberg, associate producers in the Newport Beach office of Lee & Associates, have been appointed senior vice presidents. They were also named to the board of directors.
* Scott Broomfield has joined the board of directors of CAM Data Systems in Fountain Valley, a provider of software to the retail industry. He is chief executive of Centura Software Corp.
* Jerry Holdner has been named research services manager for the Orange County office of Grubb & Ellis Co. He will direct the research activities of the Anaheim and Newport Beach offices. Holdner had been with First Image Technologies, creator of a software program used by commercial real estate firms to access research information.
* Jon Zimmerman has been named director of operations-interiors for Ware & Malcomb Architects Inc. in Irvine. He has been with the firm for more than two years, as project architect in the interior architecture and design division. Kathleen McCall-Smith has joined the firm as project manager for the interiors group. She previously owned her own firm, McCall Smith Design Group in San Diego.
